About The Role

The Accounting Intern will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, transactional accuracy, and month-end closing activities. This role involves processing accounts payable/receivable data, assisting with General Ledger (GL) code mapping and reconciliations, and collaborating with finance and operational teams to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting.

Please note that this role expects the candidates to work remotely using their own devices, and is subjected to renewal only as an intern instead of a full-time employee.

Key Accountabilities & KPIs

Accounts Payable & Invoice Processing

Verify and process vendor invoices, perform 3-way matching against purchase orders and receipts, and assist in preparing payment batches.

Journal Entries & GL Mapping

Assist in preparing standard journal entries and validating accurate General Ledger (GL) account and cost center coding for expenses.

Reconciliations

Support monthly bank, vendor statement, and sub-ledger reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Month-End Close & Audit Support

Assist with month-end closing checklists, accrual tracking, and compiling supporting schedules and documentation for internal/external audits.

Collaboration & Documentation

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing or expense queries and maintain organized digital records of financial transactions and automated workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience or relevant academic/internship exposure in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting).
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), debits/credits, and GL structures.
• Familiarity with ERP accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, DealerBox) or AP automation tools is an added advantage.
