Accounting Internship

About the role

Open Innovation Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting team as an Accounting Intern based in Metro Manila. This is a part-time position designed to provide practical experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting within a professional environment. As an Accounting Intern, you will support the daily operations of our accounting department whilst developing foundational skills in financial record-keeping, transaction processing, and financial reporting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world accounting scenarios and gain valuable industry experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and ledgers
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Supporting the reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Entering financial data into accounting software and systems with accuracy and attention to detail
• Assisting with the preparation of trial balances and financial statements
• Organising and filing financial documents and supporting records
• Supporting the preparation of invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation
• Assisting with general bookkeeping tasks and clerical duties as assigned
• Communicating with colleagues and supervisors regarding accounting matters and queries

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accounting, finance, or business-related degree programme
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (such as QuickBooks or similar platforms) is desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Reliable and professional attitude with a commitment to meeting deadlines
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• A willingness to learn and grow within an accounting environment
• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices is advantageous
