Accounting Manager / Senior Cost Accountant

Location: Greater Las Vegas Area (On-Site)

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 + Bonus & Benefits

Position Summary

A growing manufacturing company in the Greater Las Vegas area is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support plant finance and accounting operations. This role will be responsible for inventory and cost accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and operational analysis. The position partners closely with plant leadership to drive financial performance, improve processes, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory accounting, valuation, standard costs, and cost reporting.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventory programs.
• Prepare and analyze month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
• Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan development.
• Analyze manufacturing performance, costs, and profitability trends.
• Partner with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify cost savings opportunities.
• Assist with capital expenditure analysis and financial modeling.
• Support pricing and quote reviews to ensure profitability objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support SOX compliance activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
