About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our finance team at our Quezon City Metro Manila office on a full-time basis. This is a strategic position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of Abenson Ventures, Inc. As Accounting Manager, you will oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide comprehensive financial reporting to support informed business decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team, implement best practices, and contribute significantly to the company's financial strategy and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records
• Direct the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collection activities
• Lead and supervise accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal audit procedures
• Conduct reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet items, and inter-company accounts
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, variance analyses, and budget forecasts for management review
• Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audit processes and tax compliance
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimisation within the accounting function
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent is highly desirable
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting management or a similar financial leadership role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and enhancing operational efficiency
• Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and financial compliance requirements is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
