Accounting Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional with strong Singapore accounting experience to join our Johor Bahru office. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients and oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance and a team of accounting professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients on accounting matters.
• Ensure timely delivery of accounting services in accordance with agreed timelines.
• Build and maintain strong and professional client relationships.
• Review full sets of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Lead, mentor and supervise a team of accountants and associates.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and internal controls.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in Singapore.
• Strong working knowledge of Singapore accounting practices, financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in accounting outsourcing, public accounting or audit firms will be an advantage.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CA is preferred.
• Prior experience in managing or supervising a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple client engagements effectively.
• Willingness to be based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
