Accounting Manager

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, serving as a key financial leader responsible for coordinating with senior finance leadership, managing departmental systems, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department
• Coordinating directly with the Vice President for Finance regarding financial operations and reporting
• Managing the department's Quality Management System (QMS)
• Performing financial duties assigned by the Company President
• Serving as the primary financial contact for overseas principals by handling financial inquiries and correspondence
• Reviewing and auditing remittances received from principals through company depository banks
• Conducting final verification of monthly General Shipping Accounts (G.S.A.) reports and other assigned principal accounts
• Reviewing and approving final wages and settlements of disembarked crew members
• Overseeing accounting matters involving Protection and Indemnity (P&I) claims and insurance
• Managing treasury functions, company checks, cash monitoring, and bank reconciliations

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
• CPA license is highly preferred
• Experience in supervisory or managerial experience in Accounting or Finance
• Experience in the maritime, shipping, or crew management industry is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and regulatory compliance
• Proficient in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills
