What they need
- Supervise daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately in compliance with applicable accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
- Prepare management reports, including financial summaries, variance analysis, and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Ensure the timely submission of financial data to senior management and external stakeholders.
- Lead and supervise the team, providing guidance and training to junior accountants and staff.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes to prevent fraud or inaccuracies.
- Ensure the organization complies with all regulatory requirements, including tax laws, accounting standards, and industry-specific regulations.
- Assist with external and internal audits, ensuring that financial data and supporting documentation are provided on time
- Set performance goals for the team and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, ensuring the team meets deadlines and delivers high-quality work
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risk.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with other departments.
- Monitor financial performance against the budget and provide variance analysis to senior management.
- Help identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for financial improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales, payroll, and income tax returns.
- Manage and optimize accounting software and systems to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and workflows to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
