About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team at El Puerto Marina Beach Resort and Vacation Club, based in Magallanes, Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate financial reporting and accounting operations of our resort. As Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial accounting activities, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support management decision-making. This role is integral to the financial health and operational success of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger management
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Manage the resort's chart of accounts and ensure proper coding and classification of transactions
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards and other balance sheet accounts
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, reporting requirements and audit procedures
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the accounting department
• Prepare management reports and financial analyses to support strategic planning and decision-making
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with established policies

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably in a hospitality or resort environment
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and local Philippine accounting standards
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Leadership experience managing accounting teams
• Familiarity with hospitality industry accounting practices and resort operations
• Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting processes
