Accounting Manager

Harmer has been engaged by our client, a growing international organization, to identify an Accounting Manager. This is a highly visible role within the corporate accounting organization with a combination of technical accounting, month-end close leadership, process improvement, and team management. Responsibilities Include:

• Lead key aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Research and provide guidance on complex technical accounting matters under U.S. GAAP
• Support the implementation and interpretation of new and evolving accounting standards
• Develop, maintain, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to streamline the close, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen accounting processes
• Partner with finance, operations, and other cross-functional teams on accounting matters and business initiatives
• Support external audit activities and respond to technical accounting inquiries
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Participate in accounting transformation, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with experience in technical accounting and month-end close
• Prior public accounting experience is highly valued
• Previous leadership or people management experience preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working within a large, complex, or international organization is a plus
