CLEANFUEL IS HIRING: ACCOUNTING / AUDIT MANAGER

Cleanfuel is looking for an experienced and hands-on Accounting / Audit Manager who can independently oversee key accounting and audit functions, drive process improvements, and work closely with senior management.

This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently, taking ownership of accounting operations, and directly managing a lean team of 2–3 staff members.

What Will Be Your Role?

• Report directly and work closely with the President, VP, and other key stakeholders on accounting and financial matters.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including account analysis, reconciliation, financial reporting, and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Prepare and review financial statements and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring that all costs and transactions are properly recorded.
• Review journal entries, account balances, reconciliations, and financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead and manage a small accounting team of approximately 2–3 staff members, providing direction, coaching, and performance oversight.
• Work independently and take ownership of assigned accounting and audit functions with minimal supervision.
• Participate in the development and improvement of accounting systems, processes, and controls, including ERP implementation or transition such as SAP or NetSuite.
• Coordinate with Audit, Tax, and Treasury teams to ensure proper alignment of financial accounting activities and reporting.
• Lead and coordinate internal and external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to audit inquiries, and ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
• Monitor and implement audit recommendations and process improvements to strengthen internal controls and accounting operations.

What You Bring to the Table

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least 5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong technical and operational accounting background.
• Experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, month-end closing, and audit coordination.
• Strong process improvement and internal control skills.
• Experience handling annual audits and implementing audit recommendations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting/ERP systems; experience with SAP or NetSuite is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
