Accounting Manager

About the role

Job Manager (Accounting) responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure efficient operations, overseeing the employee leave approval process, and supervising general accounting and finance activities of the organization to ensure financial information is accurate, complete, timely, and compliant with relevant accounting regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and monitor accounting team tasks to meet objectives and deadlines
• Provide advice, training, and develop the potential of team members
• Evaluate employee performance in the team
• Allocate resources and resolve issues that arise during work
• Communicate organizational policies and objectives to ensure team alignment
• Review and approve/reject employee leave requests according to company policy
• Verify remaining leave entitlements and plan replacement staffing during employee absences
• Ensure team leave does not impact financial closing and important deadlines
• Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual financial closing to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Verify accuracy of accounting entries, ledgers, and financial documents
• Oversee tax filing and compliance with relevant tax requirements
• Prepare and review financial reports for management
• Coordinate with external auditors and relevant agencies
• Control and improve internal control systems for accounting and finance

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• At least 5 years of accounting and finance experience and at least 2 years of team management experience
• Knowledge of accounting standards (TFRS), tax law, and financial closing principles
• Team management, communication, and decision-making skills
• Attention to detail, honesty, and high responsibility
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• CPD (Certified Public Accountant) license or CPA will be given special consideration
