ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Location: West Chicago, IL

Pay: $100,000–$110,000 annually

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and accounting staff. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and improving accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, A/P, A/R, cash activity, reconciliations, sales/use tax, and vendor rebate programs.
• Manage A/R insurance programs and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
• Analyze variances and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax requirements.
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff while ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, accuracy, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Experience identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience preferred.
