Accounting Manager (Client Accounting Services)

Company Overview

Core Financial Outsourcing is a bookkeeping, accounting, tax, and consulting firm based in Doylestown, PA, serving a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries both onsite and virtually.

Unlike traditional corporate accounting roles, our work spans a wide range of accounting responsibilities and client environments. Our team members develop broad accounting expertise while serving as trusted advisors to clients in a flexible, collaborative, and growth-oriented environment.

The Opportunity

As the Accounting Manager (Client Accounting Services), you will lead a client-focused accounting team and manage a portfolio of business clients. You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, elevate financial reporting quality, and guide clients through complex accounting and operational challenges.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys client interaction, team leadership, and variety in their work. You will build strong client relationships, mentor staff, and drive process improvements that help clients run better businesses while contributing to the continued growth of our firm.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for accounting and financial reporting needs.
  • Evaluate client accounting processes, identify gaps, and design practical solutions using the team’s expertise and available technology.
  • Lead, mentor, and review the work of Staff Accountants to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality client service.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and cash flow reporting.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to optimize internal workflows, improve efficiencies, and implement consistent operational practices across the client accounting services function.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within the first 6–12 months, you have taken ownership of a portfolio of client accounts, building strong relationships and becoming a go-to resource for their accounting and financial questions.
  • Month-end and year-end close processes for your clients are completed accurately and on time, with clear, reliable financial reporting.
  • Your team delivers consistently high-quality work, supported by your coaching, review, and feedback, resulting in strong client satisfaction and retention.
  • Key process improvements and workflow enhancements have been identified and implemented, improving efficiency and standardization for both clients and internal teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience, including managing or reviewing the work of accounting staff and overseeing month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Background in public accounting, outsourced accounting, or client accounting services, with the ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Microsoft Excel, paired with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; CPA certification is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation: $105,000–$135,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer subsidy; employer-paid life insurance; 401(k) with employer match; paid holidays and paid vacation; short-term and long-term disability options; and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
  • Full-time, direct hire position.
  • Monday–Friday schedule, approximately 40+ hours per week based on business needs, in a collaborative, team-oriented, and flexible environment that values work/life balance.
