Accounting Manager

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will lead our accounting and finance team, oversee financial reporting and tax compliance, and provide management with accurate financial information and actionable insights.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company's financial records, monitoring revenue and profitability across products, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable Philippine accounting standards and tax regulations. This role will also support business decisions through financial analysis, forecasting, and industry research, while leading and developing a team of six (6) members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting and Accounting Operations

• Oversee the preparation, review, and accuracy of financial statements, management reports, and other financial disclosures in accordance with applicable Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and company policies.
• Monitor general ledger accounts, journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Review QuickBooks reports and ensure the timely submission of financial reports for management review, external reporting, and audit requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective accounting procedures, documentation standards, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the reliability of financial information.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities and resolve material accounting discrepancies.

2. Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting

• Prepare and review financial models, revenue projections, cash flow forecasts, and other financial analyses to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
• Review product-level profit and loss (P&L) statements, assess profitability, and investigate revenue, expense, and margin variances against budgets and forecasts.
• Provide management with insights into financial performance, cost efficiency, revenue trends, and potential financial risks.
• Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, operating plans, and financial targets.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, optimize costs, and strengthen profitability across business units and payment products.

3. Tax Compliance and Regulatory Matters

• Oversee the preparation, review, and timely filing of applicable tax returns and regulatory submissions in compliance with Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements and other relevant Philippine regulations.
• Review tax computations, supporting schedules, and accounting records to ensure accuracy and identify potential tax exposures.
• Develop and monitor tax compliance procedures to minimize tax risks and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
• Represent the company, as authorized, in BIR audits, including matters involving a Letter of Authority (LOA), and coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and relevant government agencies as needed.
• Monitor changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements that may affect the company's financial operations.

4. Banking, Reconciliation, and Financial Controls

• Oversee bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and unreconciled balances.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records related to payment processing, settlements, fees, commissions, and other payment-related transactions.
• Review cash positions, liquidity reports, and cash flow movements to support effective financial planning and working capital management.
• Strengthen internal controls, approval processes, and financial monitoring procedures to reduce errors, mitigate fraud risks, and promote accountability.
• Coordinate with internal departments and banking partners to resolve financial and settlement-related concerns.

Business and Industry Analysis

• Conduct market, competitor, and industry research to assess potential payment gateway opportunities, emerging business trends, and revenue growth prospects.
• Evaluate the financial viability and potential profitability of new products, partnerships, and business initiatives.
• Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business expansion and operational improvements.
• Present financial findings, recommendations, and risk assessments to management to support informed decision-making.

6. Team Leadership and Management

• Lead, supervise, and develop a team of six (6) accounting and finance personnel, ensuring clear responsibilities, effective collaboration, and timely completion of deliverables.
• Review team outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and adherence to established deadlines.
• Establish team performance objectives, monitor productivity, and provide regular coaching and feedback.
• Identify training needs and implement improvements to accounting processes, reporting systems, and team capabilities.
• Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

7. Other Responsibilities

• Perform other finance- and accounting-related duties and special projects as assigned by management.
• Support management initiatives involving process improvements, financial systems, operational efficiency, and business growth.

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, Finance, or related field.

· CPA, MBA, or equivalent certification is an advantage but not required.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

· 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related field.

· Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or technology industry is an advantage.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), Philippine tax regulations, BIR compliance, and financial reporting requirements.

· Hands-on experience in financial statement preparation, tax compliance, bank reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

· Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

· Experience handling BIR audits, particularly those involving a Letter of Authority (LOA), is an advantage.

· Background in fintech, digital payments, payment gateways, banking, financial services, or other regulated industries is highly preferred.

· Proven ability to lead a team, manage competing priorities, and meet strict reporting and compliance deadlines.

· Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to management.

Pay: Php50,000.00 - Php90,000.00 per month
