Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for a complex organization with multiple business lines, entities, and revenue streams within the construction industry.

This is a hands-on accounting leadership opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who can navigate complex accounting environments, maintain accurate financial records, and lead a high-performing team. The Accounting Manager will oversee general ledger management, budgeting, audits, complex multi-entity accounting, and day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounting and ensure accurate, timely financial records across multiple entities, business lines, projects, and revenue streams.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including editing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare intercompany transactions, allocations, and consolidations.
• Manage the corporate budget, monitor budgets versus actuals, and analyze variances.
• Review day-to-day operational accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash activity, and payroll.
• Maintain accurate accounting records within construction projects including WIP reports (work-in-progress), lien waivers, project billing and budgeting while managing variance analysis
• Establish, document, and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Review financial reporting across multiple entities and operating divisions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting team, providing guidance on technical accounting matters, workload management, and deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, reporting procedures, and operational efficiency.

Ideal Background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting experience, including experience managing or leading an accounting team.
• Experience within construction, or a related complex project-based environment.
• Experience overseeing accounting across multiple entities, business lines, revenue streams, or operating divisions.
• Demonstrated experience managing audits and coordinating audit preparation, documentation, and completion.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including general ledger management, complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with budgeting, variance analysis, and month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, accounting policies, and multi-entity accounting procedures.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
