Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager / Finance Manager to lead the accounting and financial reporting functions of a manufacturing company in Pasig, Metro Manila. The role is responsible for general accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, tax compliance, BIR audits, internal controls, and accounting team management.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, manufacturing accounting, ERP systems, and financial controls. This is a leadership role suited for an accounting professional with significant experience managing accounting operations and teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing activities.
• Review and maintain the accuracy of General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), journal entries, vouchers, and subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare and review monthly trial balances and financial statements in accordance with PFRS.
• Oversee cost accounting, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), manufacturing overhead, inventory costing, and cost allocation.
• Manage inventory accounting and physical inventory reconciliation for raw materials, finished goods, and supplies.
• Monitor fixed assets, Construction-in-Progress (CIP), project accounts, and capital expenditures.
• Review and monitor import and landed cost calculations and related shipment costs.
• Ensure timely and accurate BIR, SEC, and other statutory tax and regulatory compliance.
• Review VAT, withholding tax, income tax, and other tax returns and regulatory reports.
• Coordinate and support BIR audits, tax assessments, external audits, and preparation of audit schedules and supporting documents.
• Develop, strengthen, and implement internal accounting controls, policies, procedures, and process improvements.
• Lead the transition from manual accounting processes to electronic accounting/ERP systems.
• Improve accounting processes, documentation, workflow, and reporting systems.
• Manage, mentor, coach, and evaluate the accounting team.
• Work closely with Production, Sales, Operations, and other departments on financial and accounting matters.
• Analyze financial information, cost variances, and accounting issues and recommend appropriate actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5–8 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong experience in general accounting, financial reporting, taxation, and accounting operations.
• Strong knowledge of PFRS, Philippine tax laws, and BIR regulations.
• At least 2 years of experience in Manufacturing, Construction, Heavy Industry, or a similar environment.
• Hands-on experience with BIR audits, tax assessments, and audit documentation.
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing costs, COGS, and landed costs.
• Experience developing and implementing internal controls and accounting process improvements.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and/or accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Experience reviewing financial aspects of vendor contracts, loan agreements, and capital expenditure transactions is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
