Accounting Manager (CPA)

I. JOB SUMMARY

The GL Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the General Ledger (GL) accounting function of the Food Group business, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, effective internal controls, and support for business decision-making. The role manages the month-end closing process, financial analysis, account reconciliations, budgeting, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity of financial data.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management

• Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities
• Review journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and account reconciliations
• Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
• Ensure compliance with PFRS, taxation regulations, and company accounting policies

Financial Analysis & Business Support

• Analyze financial performance, variances, and key business drivers
• Provide management with timely financial insights and recommendations
• Support Food Group operations in achieving profitability and cost efficiency targets
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Store Operations on financial matters

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities
• Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions
• Analyze actual versus budget variances and provide explanations

Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and maintain strong internal controls over financial processes
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate internal and external audits and facilitate audit requirements
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks

III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly preferred
• At least 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role
• Strong background in General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
• Experience in retail, food manufacturing, commissary operations, FMCG, or food service industries is an advantage
• Has strong background on journal entries, account reconciliation, month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reporting & audit support
• With deep knowledge of Philippine taxation and other relevant accounting/auditing requirements, and comprehensive work knowledge on accounting standard concepts, practices & procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and cashflow management and investment experience
• Must be process and systems oriented and able to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
• Must display acts of integrity, trustworthy and can be relied on to act and speak with consistency and honesty
