Accounting Manager (Developer)

About the role

This role ensures accurate financial management, tax compliance, and effective project financial control for a property developer in Muar, including progressive billing, SST treatment, and development cost monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full set of accounts for the company and its property development projects
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and variance analysis reports
• Monitor cash flow, project budgets, and overall financial health
• Record and track development costs, revenue, and project expenditures accurately
• Ensure proper handling of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation
• Implement and monitor progressive billing according to project milestones
• Track development costs vs budget, including land acquisition, construction, and project overheads
• Conduct project profitability analysis and advise management on financial decisions
• Prepare and review corporate income tax, SST, RPGT, and other statutory tax submissions
• Prepare financial reports for management, board of directors, and regulatory authorities

About you

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in property development accounting or finance
• Strong knowledge of progressive billing, SST, RPGT, and Malaysian tax regulations
• Excellent financial analysis, planning, and project cost control skills
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, SQL, or MYOB) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
