The Role

The DedCool Finance team is responsible for the financial infrastructure that powers our rapid growth, from day-to-day accounting operations to the reporting that informs strategic decisions across the business. This team works cross-functionally with our Operations, Commercial, and Executive teams to ensure the business scales efficiently and remains financially disciplined.

The Accounting Manager will own DedCool's monthly close process, financial reporting, and core accounting operations, with particular ownership over the accounting complexity created by our multi-channel business, including DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and specialty retail partners like Sephora and Ulta. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build scalable accounting processes, not just maintain existing ones. The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. They bring strong technical accounting skills along with the ability to partner cross-functionally with Sales, Ecommerce, and Operations teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Maintain and continuously improve the general ledger structure, chart of accounts, and close checklist
• Prepare management reporting packages and channel-level P&L analysis across DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and wholesale/specialty retail
• Manage revenue recognition and reconciliation across DTC, Amazon (Seller/Vendor Central), TikTok Shop, and wholesale/specialty retail accounts (e.g., Sephora, Ulta)
• Reconcile marketplace and retailer deductions, chargebacks, co-op/MDF, markdowns, and returns against remittances
• Partner with Sales and Ecommerce teams to investigate and resolve deduction and chargeback discrepancies
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, and COGS across 3PL and owned-warehouse locations
• Manage inventory reserves (obsolescence, slow-moving, shrink) and support periodic physical counts/cycle counts
• Reconcile the inventory sub-ledger to the general ledger across all channels and locations
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including staff supervision as needed
• Manage cash flow monitoring and short-term cash forecasting
• Prepare borrowing base certificates and required reporting for DedCool's credit facility, and serve as a day-to-day point of contact for lender reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and maintain a strong internal controls environment
• Manage multi-state sales tax compliance across DTC, Amazon, and marketplace channels
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax preparers during annual audit/tax engagements
• Manage and develop accounting/AP-AR staff as the team grows
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities as the company scales
• Support the CFO with ad hoc analysis, budgeting, and FP&A requests

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or lead capacity
• Experience in the beauty, fragrance, personal care, or broader CPG industry
• Direct experience with the accounting mechanics of at least two of the following: Amazon (Seller/Vendor Central), DTC/e-commerce, TikTok Shop, Sephora, or Ulta
• CPA license or active pursuit of CPA is a plus
