Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Accounting Officer based in Hong Kong. The Accounting Officer takes ownership of the day-to-day accounting cycle and works closely with management on month-end closing, reporting, and compliance. Responsibilities cover the full accounts receivable and payable process, bank and account reconciliations, preparation of accounting schedules and management reports, and maintenance of accurate records in the accounting and TMS systems. The role also includes liaison with auditors, tax representatives, banks, and overseas offices, as well as general office administration to keep finance and daily operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full-set day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, receipts, payment processing, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable end to end: issue and verify invoices, prepare AR/AP aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts, and arrange supplier and carrier payments.
• Perform bank, inter-company, and account reconciliations, and maintain complete, well-organized accounting records and filing.
• Support month-end and year-end closing by preparing schedules, accruals, and supporting documentation, and assist in preparing management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and multi-currency transactions, including FX-related entries.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax representatives, and company secretary on annual audits, profits tax filings, and statutory compliance.
• Review and reconcile job costing and shipment-related charges in coordination with the operations team.
• Handle general administrative and office support duties, including insurance, vendor contracts, expense claims, and finance-related ad hoc projects.

Requirements

• Diploma or above in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; LCCI or part-qualification (HKICPA/ACCA) is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant accounting experience, preferably with full-set accounting exposure; experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or trading is a strong advantage.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and day-to-day accounting operations (AR/AP, bank reconciliation, data entry).
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; hands-on experience with TMS / Accounting systems.
• Detail-minded, proactive, and well organized, with a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Able to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to improve processes and systems.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese; Mandarin is an advantage.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
