Accounting Officer

The Accounting Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records. This role primarily involves reviewing the work of Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates, account reconciliations, tax compliance, maintaining internal controls, and supporting financial reporting in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The Accounting Officer will also support audit activities and help drive process improvements.

Supervision and Review:

• Oversee general ledger maintenance and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.

• Review and validate accounting entries prepared by Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates in the accounting system (e.g., journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations).

• Provide guidance and feedback to Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates to improve performance and efficiency.

Reconciliations and Financial Reporting:

• Review monthly reconciliations for key accounts, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Ensure all financial data is accurate and submitted within deadlines.

• Monitor and ensure timely closing of books.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal control procedures, accounting standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., PFRS).

• Assist in audit preparation and implement audit recommendations.

• Maintain effective internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Financial Analysis Support:

• Provide necessary data to support Finance Team in conducting variance analysis to understand budget versus actual performance, identifying trends and providing recommendations.

• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing financial data and supporting schedules.

• Provide insights and recommendations on areas for financial improvement or cost savings.

Process Improvement and System Maintenance:

• Assist in maintaining accounting systems and ensure they are functioning effectively.

• Identify gaps in processes and suggest process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.

• Mentor and support Accounting Associates and Senior Accounting Associates, providing guidance on accounting practices and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CFA, CPA, or MBA is a plus)
• At least 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Onsite set-up with flexible working schedule: (Monday - Friday)
