Accounting Officer

About the role

Stacktrek Enterprise Inc. is seeking a dedicated Accounting Officer to join our Finance team in Manila City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of our organisation. As an Accounting Officer, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the broader financial objectives of the company. This role is fundamental to the smooth functioning of our finance department and directly contributes to the strategic financial planning and reporting requirements of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Recording, classifying and posting daily financial transactions to the general ledger in a timely and accurate manner
• Preparing and reconciling bank statements, cash accounts and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies
• Performing month-end closing procedures and reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced
• Supporting the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors
• Assisting with payroll processing and verification to ensure accurate employee compensation
• Identifying and investigating discrepancies and unusual transactions to maintain data accuracy
• Collaborating with other departments to provide financial information and support when required

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• Proven experience (2-4 years) in an accounting role, preferably in financial accounting and reporting functions

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors in financial records

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

• Professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels

• Knowledge of BIR regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable

• Professional accounting certification (such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is preferred but not essential
