Accounting Officer

What you'll be doing

• Recording and reconciling financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts, journals, and supporting documentation
• Conducting regular bank reconciliations and account verification to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Supporting the audit process by organising and providing necessary financial documentation and records
• Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information and adhering to data security protocols
• Collaborating with other departments to resolve financial queries and ensure accurate record-keeping
• Monitoring and recording fixed asset transactions and depreciation calculations
• Assisting in the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional accounting certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience in financial accounting or a similar accounting role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and tax regulations
• Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate financial records
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and investigate variances
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly
• High level of integrity, discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
