Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, preparing financial reports and schedules, and assisting Management in maintaining effective financial controls. The position serves as a key accounting resource who can independently handle complex accounting transactions, analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and provide reliable accounting information to Management and the Accounting Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced accounting functions and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare financial reports and schedules
• Assist Management in maintaining effective financial controls
• Independently handle complex accounting transactions
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
• Provide reliable accounting information to Management and the Accounting Manager

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or related field
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliation, audit, and month-end closing
• Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting principles and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of BIR requirements and taxation
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and basic financial analysis
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, food processing, distribution, real estate, or multi-company environment is an advantage
• Experience handling multiple entities or branches is highly preferred
