About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist (General Accounting) to join the finance team at MEGA PRIME FOODS INCORPORATED. In this role, you will provide essential accounting support to ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation and supporting our wider business objectives through diligent financial management and reporting.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and reconciling daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries
• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring all postings are accurate and complete
• Processing invoices, cheques and other financial documents with attention to detail and adherence to company policies
• Performing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies for resolution
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports
• Maintaining accurate and organised accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assisting with audit procedures and providing necessary documentation to internal and external auditors
• Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjusting entries
• Liaising with other departments to obtain necessary financial information and clarifications
• Assisting with the maintenance of accounting systems and databases

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3-5 years of experience in a general accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage large datasets and create financial reports
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and bookkeeping practices
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Professionalism, integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
