Accounting Staff

About the role

Seafoods Varities Corp. is seeking a dedicated Accounting Staff to join our growing finance team at our Marulas office in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of our organisation. As Accounting Staff, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, recording financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role is integral to supporting our management team with timely and accurate financial information to drive informed business decisions.

What you'll be doing

• Recording and processing daily financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and expense reports
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Preparing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and monthly accounting reports
• Filing and organising financial documents in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
• Supporting the completion of tax returns and other statutory filings
• Performing data entry and verification tasks to ensure accurate records
• Assisting with internal and external audits as required
• Collaborating with other team members to resolve accounting issues and improve processes

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or any equivalent Business-related courses.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting operations, or a similar accounting role
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and general accounting procedures
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Reliable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Familiarity with Philippine tax regulations and compliance requirements is highly desirable
• Willingness to continue professional development and stay current with accounting practices
