About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Staff to join the finance team at APS Logistics Philippines Inc. This is a full-time position based in Paranaque City, Metro Manila. As an Accounting Staff member, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of our organisation. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our finance department. This role is essential to the smooth functioning of our financial processes and directly impacts the company's ability to make informed business decisions.

What you'll be doing

• Recording financial transactions accurately in the accounting system and maintaining detailed records of all company expenditures and income
• Preparing and processing invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers in a timely and accurate manner
• Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing payments and following up on outstanding invoices
• Supporting the audit process by organising documentation and providing required financial information to auditors
• Performing data entry tasks with precision and attention to detail
• Assisting with tax compliance activities and ensuring timely submission of required financial documents
• Collaborating with other departments to resolve accounting-related queries and issues
• Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information and adhering to internal controls and policies

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification

• Proven experience as an Accounting Staff, Assistant Accountant, or similar accounting role

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors in financial records

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Reliable communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with colleagues

• A commitment to accuracy, integrity and maintaining the confidentiality of financial information

• Ability to work independently whilst also being a team player in a collaborative environment

• Preferred: Experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry would be advantageous

• Preferred: Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements in the Philippines
