Accounting Supervisor

Everest International Academy, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Supervisor who will be responsible for the overall management of accounting operations, financial reporting, and tax compliance of Everest International Academy (EIA). The role ensures the integrity of financial records, timely submission of reports, and full compliance with regulatory requirements, including BIR and other government agencies.

This position also provides leadership to the accounting team under a shared services structure, ensuring efficient financial processes, strong internal controls, and alignment with organizational goals and institutional standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight

• Oversee general accounting functions, including GL, journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and financial closing.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Review reconciliations, schedules, and financial results; provide insights to management.

2. Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements.
• Review tax returns, supporting schedules, and timely filing and payment of tax obligations.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies; ensure audit readiness.

3. Internal Controls & Process Governance

• Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and transaction approvals.
• Identify risks and implement controls to safeguard assets and data.

4. Team Leadership & Shared Services

• Supervise and guide the accounting team across shared services functions.
• Allocate workloads and review outputs for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance management.

5. Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Monitor actual vs. budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Provide financial insights to support management decisions.

6. Audit & Stakeholder Coordination

• Lead internal and external audit preparation and coordinate submission of requirements.
• Ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Coordinate with school leadership, the Board, and other stakeholders on financial matters.

7. Systems & Process Improvement

• Support and optimize accounting, payment, and related systems.
• Improve accounting workflows, reporting processes, and data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy

• Advanced Qualifications: A Post Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree is a plus.

• Professional Certification: Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

• Experience: At least five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, with:

  • Strong background in general accounting and financial reporting;
  • Proven experience in tax compliance (BIR);
  • Supervisory or managerial experience

• Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Solid understanding of internal controls and audit processes
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficient in accounting systems and advanced MS Excel
  • Good communication skills for coordination with management and external parties

• Availability: Must be willing to report to BGC, Taguig

• Character: Must possess good moral character and a strong work ethic.
