Accounting Supervisor

About the role

Supervise the day-to-day activities of the credit control team, managing customer credit applications, credit exposure, and collections to balance customer service with credit risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day activities of the credit control team
• Review and approve customer credit applications and recommend appropriate credit limits
• Monitor customer credit exposure and ensure adherence to approved credit limits
• Conduct periodic reviews of customer creditworthiness and recommend changes where necessary
• Escalate high-risk or long-outstanding accounts to management
• Recommend legal recovery actions when necessary
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on collections, overdue accounts, aging analysis, bad debts, and cash collection performance
• Analyze collection trends and identify potential credit risks
• Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures
• Monitor the accounts receivable aging report and ensure timely collection of outstanding debts

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or finance
• At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
• Strong understanding of credit control procedures and accounts receivable management
• Familiarity with credit risk assessment and debt recovery practices
• Understanding of relevant financial regulations and company credit policies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Leadership and team management skills
