Accounting Supervisor

We are hiring for one of our member CPA firms, FJ & Associates. They a full-service accounting firm of about 40 employees located in Kaysville, UT. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of bookkeepers while remaining actively engaged in client work. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll oversee multiple client engagements, review and guide the work of your team, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients, all while still rolling up your sleeves for core accounting production work when needed.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both managing people and staying close to the numbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
• Review accounting work prepared by team members for accuracy and completeness
• Serve as a client-facing point of contact, building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Coordinate and communicate with internal tax and audit teams to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent client service
• Perform hands-on accounting production work as needed, including:
• Maintaining and reviewing general ledgers
• Preparing balance sheets and financial statements
• Processing and reviewing payroll
• Performing account reconciliations
• Other core bookkeeping and accounting tasks

Qualifications

• Prior experience supervising or mentoring accounting/bookkeeping staff
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, payroll, and financial statement preparation
• Strong GAAP knowledge
• Comfortable working directly with clients and managing relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities at once
• Experience in public accounting is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Pay: $30–$35 per hour, based on experience
