Accounting Supervisor

About the role

Accounting Supervisor for Accounts Payable (A/P) coordinates daily accounting workflows, balances team workloads, and provides technical guidance to staff. This role acts as a player-coach: executing complex accounting tasks, such as complex reconciliations and financial reporting, while mentoring the team to meet tight monthly deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and train accounts payable assistants and specialists, and help manage team workloads to ensure invoices are processed efficiently
• Oversee the end-to-end processing of vendor invoices, purchase orders (POs), and payment runs (Checks, ACH, Wire, and Credit Cards)
• Ensure timely payments to capture early-payment discounts and avoid late fees
• Enforce and supervise strict three-way matching processes (matching POs, receiving reports, and vendor invoices) to verify the validity of expenses
• Resolve complex billing disputes and reconcile statement discrepancies
• Maintain strong vendor partnerships
• Assist in coordinating the month-end close schedule
• Review team ledger entries and reconciliations to ensure strict deadlines are met
