Accounting Support Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Support Specialist to join our accounting team in Honduras. This position will primarily support load-related accounting adjustments and cash application activities in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

The role will work closely with our U.S. accounting, billing, collections, and operations teams to research transactional discrepancies, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure activity is accurately recorded.

Key Responsibilities

• Review load-level information and supporting documentation for accounting adjustments.
• Enter and post approved load-related adjustments in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
• Maintain organized support and a clear audit trail for management review.
• Monitor prepaid and unapplied customer payments when the related load or invoice has not yet posted.
• Apply prepaid cash to the correct invoice and customer account once the load is posted.
• Research basic discrepancies involving customer numbers, load numbers, invoice amounts, and partial payments.
• Maintain a prepaid and unapplied cash tracker and follow up on outstanding items.
• Escalate items that cannot be properly matched or resolved.
• Assist Cash Application and Accounts Receivable with AX entries, settlements, adjustments, and account cleanup.
• Support subsidiary billing and collections, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and other accounting projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, billing, or cash application.
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, or transactional accounting.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup formulas.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with teams in Honduras and the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 or another ERP system.
• Experience with cash application, customer billing, or accounts receivable.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP or NIIF.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or another transaction-intensive industry.
• Experience working for a multinational organization.
