About the role

This role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in Malaysia. You will handle full sets of accounts for a portfolio of Singapore SME clients, with some Malaysia clients too. This position calls for at least two years of hands on full set accounting experience and suits someone ready to take responsibility for the work of others as well as their own.

Key responsibilities

~Handle full sets of accounts for a portfolio of Singapore SME clients, with some Malaysia clients too.
~Prepare bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
~Prepare month end schedules and adjusting entries, and close the books on time.
~Review and prepare GST returns.
~Assist with unaudited financial statements and tax computations.
~Prepare monthly reporting packages for assigned clients.
~Process monthly payroll for assigned clients, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
~Review the work of accounts members and guide them on treatment and deadlines.
~Track statutory deadlines across your portfolio and escalate risks early.
~Respond to client queries on your portfolio.
~Use cloud based software such as Xero, Talenox, Bukku and Microsoft Teams to run efficient remote workflows.

Report to the Accountant, and to the Principal Consultant and Director in our Singapore office.

About you

• Educational Qualifications and Requirements

  ~A degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance, ACCA completed, or equivalent.
  ~At least two years of full set accounting experience, gained in an accounting firm or an outsourced service provider handling multiple clients.
  ~Experience with Singapore client accounts is preferred. Candidates without it must be prepared to study the Singapore regulatory framework on their own initiative, including ACRA and IRAS requirements, and get up to speed quickly.
  ~Hands on experience with Xero is highly regarded. Bukku and Talenox experience is an advantage.
  ~A good command of spoken and written English for effective remote communication with internal teams and clients.
  ~Willingness to check and be accountable for the work of others, not only your own.
  ~Strong attention to detail, and the discipline to raise a problem early rather than let it run.
  ~Able to manage several client portfolios at once and meet firm statutory deadlines.
  ~Self motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting, without close supervision.

Salary, Work Hours and Benefits

Salary: RM3,000 to RM4,000 per month, subject to EPF, SOCSO and EIS contributions.
Salary within the range depends on experience, and is reviewed once capability is demonstrated.
Besides basic salary, this role is eligible for allowances, performance incentive and discretionary bonus.

Working hours:
5 day work week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm, with a one hour lunch break.
Saturday (when required and necessary)

Location: Fully remote, open to candidates across East and West Malaysia.
