Job Overview
Collins Capital is seeking a full-time Accounting Technician to support our accounting operations and assist with day-to-day financial tasks. This position is an opportunity to be a part of a growing company with a strong team that values employee input. The position is full-time in the office, which is based in Edmonton. The Accounting Technician will report to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Record, process, and maintain accurate financial and operational data within established timelines
• Track, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoices, cheques, and cheque requisitions
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
• Prepare and maintain ad hoc and customized financial reports as required
• Ensure financial records are organized, accurate, and up to date
• File GST returns and T-slips
• Liaise with accounting software providers and banking institutions to resolve technical issues and support system upgrades
• Maintain organized financial, corporate, and tax records
• Assist external accountants with year-end closing activities
• Support general administrative duties as needed

Skills

• Minimum 5 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with Sage 50, QuickBooks, ADP, and Payworks
• Strong financial literacy and understanding of accounting principles
• Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Proactive and able to anticipate company needs
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Committed to continuous improvement and process efficiency

Pay: $52,000.00-$66,560.00 per year
