Accounting Technician

 We are now seeking an Accounting Technician who enjoys detail, takes pride in accuracy, and wants their work to make a real difference to growing Kiwi building businesses.  This is a full-time position based in our Tauranga office.

The role

As an Accounting Technician, you will help deliver timely, accurate and useful financial support to RBS clients. You will report to the Commercial Accounting Manager and work in our Commercial Accounting team to keep the day-to-day financial engine running smoothly and give our clients confidence in the numbers that guide their businesses.

What you'll do

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Processing accounts payable, receivable and payroll
• Preparation of monthly management reports
• Reporting and analysis of accounting data
• Providing assistance to the accounting team

What success looks like

• Clients feel well supported and confident that core accounting tasks are handled properly and on time
• Financial information is reliable, easy to follow, and useful for decision-making
• Deadlines are met, details are not missed, and follow-through is strong.

What you'll bring

We'd love to hear from you if you bring most of the following:

• Familiarity with payroll processing or IRD compliance requirements
• Exposure to month-end reporting or management reporting support
• A professional, practical and proactive approach to getting the work done
• A passion for accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication, with a service mindset
• A willingness to learn.

It would be a bonus if you also have:

• Experience with MYOB Advanced
• Experience in construction, trades, job costing, or project-based accounting
• A relevant qualification or progress toward one.
