Accounting/Finance Intern

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable researching historical financial transactions. They should have strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while following established accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and analyze aged open accounts payable transactions.
• Investigate outstanding transactions to determine their status and appropriate resolution.
• Determine whether aged transactions should be cancelled, voided, or otherwise resolved based on established accounting procedures.
• Process approved write-offs accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review supporting documentation and research transaction history as needed.
• Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation of research, decisions, and completed adjustments.
• Collaborate with accounting and other internal teams to resolve aged items.
• Ensure transactions are handled in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to research and reconcile historical transactions.
• Familiarity with voids, cancellations, adjustments, and write-offs.
• Strong Excel and data-analysis skills.
• Ability to document findings clearly and make appropriate recommendations based on established procedures.
