Accounts Administrator (Accounts Receivable)

Monkeytoe is looking for a confident and personable Accounts Administrator to join their Christchurch team. This is a hands-on Accounts Receivable role where you’ll take ownership of debtor management, proactively communicate with customers to resolve outstanding accounts, and provide day-to-day support across the finance function.

About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play an important role in maintaining healthy cash flow and ensuring customer accounts are accurate and well managed. This is a varied position with a strong focus on Accounts Receivable and credit control, alongside general finance and administration support.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the Accounts Receivable function and proactively following up overdue accounts
• Monitoring the aged receivables ledger and prioritising collection activity
• Contacting customers by phone and email regarding outstanding invoices and payment arrangements
• Investigating and resolving account queries, discrepancies and disputes
• Allocating and receipting customer payments accurately and promptly
• Completing daily bank reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate customer account and financial records
• Building positive relationships with customers while confidently managing payment conversations
• Providing general finance and administration support as required

About you
We're looking for someone who has: 

• Previous Accounts Receivable, credit control or relevant accounts administration experience
• Confidence and professionalism when communicating with customers over the phone
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• The ability to organise your workload and manage competing priorities
• A proactive and resilient approach, with the confidence to have sometimes challenging payment conversations
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve account queries
• A collaborative, positive and practical approach to working within a team
