About the Role

That’s Alotta Donuts is a growing food manufacturing and retail business looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Accounts Administrator to oversee our financial operations.

This is a key leadership role responsible for the day-to-day accounting function, financial reporting, inventory accounting, compliance and payroll across both our manufacturing and retail operations.

We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail matter.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory accounting.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Develop and maintain robust inventory valuation processes covering raw materials, work-in-progress and retail stock.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare and analyse budget-to-actual variance reports and provide meaningful financial insights to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and business performance.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Manage tax and regulatory compliance relevant to food manufacturing and retail operations.
• Prepare and lodge BAS and state payroll tax returns.
• Maintain business licences, health department certifications and food safety compliance documentation.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls across accounting and retail POS systems.
• Monitor financial processes to minimise errors, discrepancies and potential fraud.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants, auditors and relevant tax authorities.

Payroll & HR Administration

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for salaried employees, hourly manufacturing staff and shift-based retail employees.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable employment, award, overtime and wage requirements.
• Reconcile payroll tax, workers' compensation and employee benefits.
• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
• Work closely with management and HR on payroll and employment-related matters.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with a practical, hands-on approach.

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA certification is highly preferred.
• 5+ years’ progressive accounting experience, preferably within food manufacturing, FMCG, consumer goods or retail.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, payroll and compliance.
• Advanced proficiency with MYOB and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll and POS systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with management and operational teams.

Desirable

• Experience working across both manufacturing and retail environments.
• Experience with inventory accounting, manufacturing costing and stock control.
• Strong understanding of Australian taxation, payroll and employment compliance.
