Accounts Assistant

About the role

D Swim Academy SDN. BHD. is seeking an Account Assistant to join our finance team on a full-time basis at our Bukit Jalil location in Kuala Lumpur. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to support the accounting operations of our growing organisation. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and technical support to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with accounting standards. The Account Assistant plays a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the broader finance function, contributing directly to the financial health and integrity of the academy.

Key responsibilities

1. Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
2. Preparing and maintaining financial records, including invoices, receipts and supporting documentation
3. Reconciling bank statements and identifying discrepancies for resolution
4. Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
5. Supporting the preparation of financial reports and statements under guidance from senior accounting staff
6. Data entry and maintenance of accounting systems and databases
7. Filing and organising financial documents in accordance with company policy
8. Assisting with accounts reconciliation
9. Liaising with internal departments and external vendors regarding financial matters

What we're looking for

1. A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
2. Strong numeracy skills and accuracy in handling financial data and calculations.
3. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
4. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and accounting software
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Positive attitude and a keen eye for problem-solving
9. Knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations is desirable
