About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to oversee the hotel’s accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, and strong financial controls while working closely with management and department heads.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and financial performance reports.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Monitor daily hotel revenue, including room sales, food and beverage sales, and other income.
• Review revenue reconciliations, credit card settlements, bank deposits, and supporting documents.
• Oversee supplier payments, billing, credit control, and collection of outstanding balances.
• Manage cash flow, banking transactions, petty cash, and payment schedules.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyse variances, and recommend cost-control measures.
• Review payroll-related accounting entries and reconcile payroll and statutory payment records.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, banks, and relevant authorities.
• Oversee applicable tax submissions, SST reporting, and e-Invoice processes.
• Maintain proper accounting records, supporting documents, and internal controls.
• Supervise and guide the accounts team to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Provide financial information and recommendations to support management decisions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience handling a full set of accounts independently.
• Hotel or hospitality industry experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with Malaysian tax requirements, SST, and e-Invoicing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with hotel property management systems is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and able to meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with other departments.
