ACCOUNTS MANAGER

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Accounts Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting for a group of companies operating in engineering, construction, and maintenance services. The role combines direct transaction processing, full-set accounting, reporting, and supervision of a small accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full sets of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing.
• Prepare and review invoices, purchase orders, payment vouchers, receipts, journals, reconciliations, and other accounting documents.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, schedules, and cash-flow reports for management review.
• Monitor collections, supplier payments, bank balances, and project-related costs and transactions.
• Handle intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across group entities.
• Coordinate GST submissions, audit schedules, tax-related documentation, and statutory reporting with external advisers.
• Review the work of accounting staff, allocate tasks, and ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, suppliers, customers, and internal project or service teams on accounting matters.
• Maintain proper accounting records, internal controls, and compliance with applicable Singapore requirements.
• Support improvements to accounting systems, workflows, and reporting processes.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline; relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including full-set accounts; supervisory experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of Singapore accounting practices, GST, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Comfortable with hands-on daily accounting transactions, Excel, and accounting/ERP systems.
• Organised, accurate, able to meet deadlines, and effective in communicating with colleagues and external parties.
• Experience in engineering, construction, project accounting, or multi-company environments is an advantage.
