Accounts Officer

About the role

Kuari Bukit Bekelah Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Officer to join our Finance team on a full-time basis in Kuantan, Pahang. This role is pivotal to maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of our organisation's accounting records and reports. As an Accounts Officer, you will support the day-to-day financial operations and contribute to the delivery of timely and accurate financial information that informs business decisions across the company.

What you'll be doing

• Recording, verifying and processing financial transactions in the general ledger and accounting systems
• Preparing and reconciling bank statements, cash accounts and subsidiary ledgers on a monthly basis
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, trial balances and variance reports
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice verification and payment processing
• Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
• Performing period-end closing procedures and reconciliations
• Supporting the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting packages
• Assisting with tax compliance matters and ensuring timely submission of relevant financial information
• Identifying and flagging discrepancies, errors or anomalies for investigation and resolution
• Liaising with internal departments and external parties to resolve accounting queries and obtain necessary documentation

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in financial accounting and reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create and analyse financial spreadsheets
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (IFRS or MFR knowledge is beneficial)
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external stakeholders
• Reliability and integrity in handling confidential financial information
• Willingness to learn and develop within a dynamic finance environment
• Familiarity with Malaysian tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements is advantageous
