Accounts Payable Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting financial compliance initiatives. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial software, and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations. Responsibilities

• Process and verify invoices using various financial software such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to accounts payable transactions efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of all payable transactions, including invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor correspondence.
• Manage vendor setup, updates, and ongoing maintenance within accounts payable systems like Paychex or ADP.
• Support automation initiatives for accounts payable processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual data entry errors.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements during all financial activities.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures by preparing journal entries related to accounts payable and reconciling general ledger accounts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on accounts payable functions; experience in public accounting is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts related to invoice processing, debits & credits, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency with financial software including Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
• Skilled in Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and advanced spreadsheet functions for reporting purposes.
• Familiarity with accounts payable automation tools and systems that streamline invoice processing workflows.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll management systems such as ADP or Kronos is advantageous for cross-functional support roles within finance and HRIS systems.

Pay: $79,454.42 - $96,558.01 per year
