Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

ADSIA Logistics Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Payable Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a full-time position based in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures and policies. As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation and supporting the broader finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and verifying invoices, purchase orders and other payable documents in a timely and accurate manner
• Recording accounts payable transactions in the accounting system and maintaining supporting documentation
• Reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies or payment discrepancies
• Preparing payment schedules and processing payments to suppliers whilst ensuring compliance with payment terms and authorisation procedures
• Communicating with vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues and obtain necessary documentation
• Maintaining accurate vendor records and updating vendor master files as required
• Assisting with monthly accounts payable reconciliations and supporting period-end close procedures
• Supporting the preparation of financial reports and providing relevant accounts payable data to management
• Ensuring all accounts payable activities comply with internal policies, procedures and relevant regulations
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

• Qualification in accounting, finance or a related field such as ACCA, AITC or equivalent professional designation or relevant accounting qualification
• Proven experience of at least 2-3 years working in an accounts payable function or similar accounting role
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and transaction processing
• Knowledge of accounting principles, invoice processing procedures and accounts payable best practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and external vendors
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of GST/VAT or local tax regulations would be advantageous
• Experience in the logistics or transportation industry would be highly desirable
