Accounts Payable & Receivable assistant

On behalf of our client, a dynamic company specializing in the processing & trade of fruits & vegetables, we are looking for a motivated Assistant Accounts Payable & Receivable accountant. As an Assistant Accounts Payable & Receivable accountant, you will support the accounting department in daily operational and bookkeeping tasks.

Working directly under the supervision of the Senior Accounts Payable & Receivable accountant, the Assistant Accounts Payable & Receivable accountant will ensure that the department operates smoothly, maintain accurate and complete records regarding payments to contractors and vendors and process payments. This will be a full-time and permanent position.

Responsibilities

Your duties as an Assistant Accounts Payable & Receivables accountant in this company will be to:

• Assisting in supplier invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor reconciliations.
• Issuing customer invoices, tracking collections, and supporting credit control activities and customer account reconciliations.
• Supporting corporate tax compliance, VAT administration, and day-to-day liaison with tax authorities.
• Adhering to financial policies, applying internal controls, and supporting audit coordination.
• Reconciling payroll entries, calculating accruals, and preparing monthly payroll journal entries for the General Ledger.
• Completing payroll remittances, reconciling payroll liability accounts, and preparing reports and payments for government and benefit carriers.
• Assisting and supporting management in ad hoc financial and accounting tasks.

Qualifications

In order for your profile to match the assistant financial accountant, you need to have the following skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting department.
• Fluency in English (B2+/C1 level - Strong spoken and written skills are required).
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with ERP accounting software (e.g., SoftOne, SAP, etc.).
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and eagerness to learn.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting department
