Accounts Payable & Stock Control Assistant

We're looking for a detail-orientated person to join our friendly head office team in a full-time Accounts Payable and Stock Control role.

About half your time will be spent supporting our Accounts Payable team: processing, checking and reconciling supplier accounts. The other half will be in Stock Control, working with product data, supplier price files and investigating discrepancies.

This is not a data entry role. You will need to be someone who can interpret information, spot when something doesn't look right, investigate why, and work out the right fix.

Key responsibilities

-     Processing and verifying supplier invoices

-     Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies

-     Maintaining accurate product, pricing and inventory information

-    Managing supplier price files, using Excel to compare and validate data

-    Investigating stock and product discrepancies

-     Answering phones, assisting with banking and providing general administration support across the business

What we're looking for

-  Established Excel skills, including XLOOKUP across multiple spreadsheets and sorting out data format inconsistencies

-   Strong attention to detail and a genuinely analytical, curious mindset

-   The ability to use your initiative and work autonomously, rather than just follow a checklist

-    Accounts payable, bookkeeping or finance administration experience (highly regarded)

-    Inventory, retail pricing or stock control experience (highly regarded, but not essential)

-    Confident, professional communication with suppliers, customers and the team
