Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant to support our accounting and administrative team.

This is an on-site position of approximately 20–25 hours per week, with flexibility in how those hours are scheduled during regular business hours. This position may be ideal for someone looking for steady part-time employment with a flexible daytime schedule.

The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day accounts payable functions and work closely with our accounting and operations teams in a busy logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and enter vendor and carrier invoices into the accounting system
• Match invoices with purchase orders, bills of lading, receipts, and other supporting documentation
• Assist with processing vendor and carrier payments
• Maintain accurate vendor and accounts payable records
• Respond to vendor and carrier inquiries regarding invoices and payments
• Follow up on missing documentation and invoice discrepancies
• Maintain organized electronic and paper accounting records
• Communicate with accounting and operations staff to resolve billing issues
• Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as required

Qualifications

• Previous accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience is preferred
• Experience in the transportation, logistics, or trucking industry is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable working with numbers and handling a high volume of invoices
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer applications
• Experience with accounting software is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable, professional, and willing to learn
