What is the job?

The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible in supporting the finance operations of a ship repair company that performs work under U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Process and review high-volume vendor, material, and subcontractor invoices for ship repair and maintenance projects.
• Perform three-way matching of invoices against purchase orders, receiving documents, and work orders.
• Ensure invoice compliance with contracts, FAR/DFARS requirements, and allowable cost guidelines.
• Manage QuickBooks invoice entries, vendor reconciliations, discrepancies, and supporting documentation.
• Support financial close activities, bank reconciliations, accruals, tax reporting, and audit preparation.
• Coordinate with vendors and project teams while maintaining compliance, confidentiality, and process improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of two (2) years of accounts payable experience.

• Experience using QuickBooks Desktop.

• Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
