Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Account Payable Clerk to join operations in our Brighton, Michigan facility. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee the AP accounting activities using our Plex ERP system. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a small, privately owned manufacturing environment and wants to see the direct results of their work.

Key Responsibilities

• Processes payables into accounting system.
• Communicates with vendors regarding status of payables and open issues.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Maintains 1099.
• Monthly reconciliation to GL accounts
• Prepare month end AP journal entries
• Ensure and build vendor relationships.
• Maintain intercompany billings and receivable charges and payment application.
• Completing check runs.
• Running aging reports.
• New vendor setup and management of paperwork such as W-9.
• Performing credit reference.
• Following company bill plan.
• Assisting corporate controller with special projects.
• Answering the phones
• Any tasks deemed appropriate by the corporate controller.

Qualifications & Skills

• 4+ years of progressive accounts payable experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and with companies of comparable size (roughly 50–150 employees) is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Plex ERP (or similar manufacturing systems such as Epicor or SAP) is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and some tax knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a small-team, multi-hat environment.
