Accounts Payable Officer
Location: West Ipswich, QLD
Salary: Circa $65,000 - $70,000 + Super + quarterly bonus
Bonus: Quarterly KPI bonus – starting from approximately $500 per quarter
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Work Arrangement: Office-based

The Role
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join a small, hands-on finance team based in West Ipswich.
This is not a management position and we're not looking for someone who wants to completely reinvent the finance function. We need someone who is comfortable following established processes, can work independently and, importantly, can use their initiative when something doesn't quite add up.
The role is heavily focused on accounts payable, invoice processing, reconciliations and payment processing.
There is also a real opportunity for someone efficient and organised to take ownership of the workload, improve how things are done and potentially broaden their responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices and payments
• High-volume data entry and accounts processing
• Scanning and digitising invoices
• Matching invoices against purchase orders and approvals
• Reconciling payments and supplier accounts
• Investigating discrepancies and following up where required
• Working across multiple ledgers and entities
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Supporting payment runs and general accounts administration
• Working closely with internal stakeholders, including the wider finance team
• Assisting with the transition towards a more unified finance system
• Identifying simple ways to improve efficiency and existing processes

Systems
The business is currently operating across several ledgers, including Odoo, with a transition underway towards a more unified system.

Employment Hero is used for HR and payroll-related processes including leave and superannuation.
There are still some manual reconciliation processes, so attention to detail and the ability to work methodically are important.

About You
We're looking for someone who is dependable, practical and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
Ideally, you will have:

• Previous Accounts Payable or similar accounts experience
• Strong invoice processing and reconciliation experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good data-entry and general computer skills
• The ability to follow established procedures and instructions
• Confidence investigating discrepancies rather than simply passing them on
• A proactive approach – if the day's workload is finished, you'll look for what else needs doing
• Experience with Odoo and/or Employment Hero would be advantageous but isn't essential
• A willingness to learn and develop within the role
